The Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro G is Electric Bus Champion 2024, winning the electric bus comparison test for articulated buses organised in the spring by the trade magazine “Omnibusspiegel”.
Electric Bus Champion 2024: the all‑electric Mercedes Benz eCitaro wins prestigious electric bus comparison test for the second time in a row.
The locally emission-free, all-electric Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro G is the Electric Bus Champion of the year 2024. The low-floor articulated city bus bearing the three-pointed star once again received the best ratings from the high-calibre jury in this year's electric bus comparison test organised by Omnibusspiegel bus magazine.
Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro fuel cell is "Bus of the Year" and "Ecological Bus of the Year".
The Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro fuel cell with hydrogen-based fuel cell range extender has won two awards in the national competition organized by the Spanish editorial group EDITEC. A jury consisting of 817 transport company managers and technical experts evaluated the participating commercial vehicles for freight and passenger transportation in various categories. 24 companies with a total of 28 models took part in the competition.

Daimler Buses has won a total of six awards at the international trade fair Busworld, held from 7 to 12 October in Brussels. The specialist panel at Busworld Awards honoured the eCitaro with the “Grand Award Bus” and the “Comfort Label” awards.
Innovation award for Mercedes-Benz buses and Daimler Buses safety technology: three first places at busplaner Innovation Award 2023.
A fantastic result with three first places in this year’s readers’ choice organised by the trade magazine busplaner published by Munich-based Huss-Verlag: the innovative and environmentally friendly technologies in the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro fuel cell and Intouro K buses as well as the Daimler Buses Active Brake Assist 5 were declared the winners in three categories and awarded the busplaner Innovation Award 2023.
A panel of international experts has chosen the Mercedes Benz eCitaro as the 2023 Electric Bus Champion.
The Mercedes-Benz eCitaro is the 2023 Electric Bus Champion. In this year’s electric bus comparison test, organised by Omnibusspiegel bus magazine, the current low-floor bus version featuring highly-efficient NMC°3 batteries bearing the three-pointed star came out on top against five rivals.

Mercedes-Benz eCitaro wins the "BEST OF mobility 2021" election.
Stuttgart/Munich – Environmentally friendly and innovative technology is rewarded: the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro with solid-state batteries has won the "Public Transport" category in the readers' poll "BEST OF mobility 2021". It was based on an online vote within Huss-Verlag's magazine "Vision Mobility" in cooperation with the consulting firm Deloitte.
First place for new Mercedes-Benz Intouro: bus companies vote it 2021 Touring Coach of the Year in Spain.
It is exactly the right bus at the right time: the new Mercedes-Benz Intouro sets the standard for flexibility, efficiency and safety. This has now been confirmed by an expert Spanish jury made up of representatives from 37 renowned Spanish bus companies: the specialists have voted the Mercedes-Benz Intouro "Touring Coach of the Year" in Spain. The vote was organised by the Spanish publishing company Grupo Editorial Editec, which publishes the magazines "Viajeros“ (bus) and "Transporte 3" (trucks). The Intouro's victory follows on from the successes of its brand colleagues: in previous years the all-electric eCitaro city bus and the Tourismo also won in their respective category.

Awards showered on Mercedes-Benz Buses: the attractive, informative online presence has received a number of awards. Recently, the focus was on its high user-friendliness. It received the "German Brand Award" for 2020 as the "winner" in the "Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation - Brand Communication – User experience" category. The German Brand Award is considered one of the leading German brand awards.

Minibus of the Year 2019: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter City 75.
With the latest model of its Sprinter City 75 series, Mercedes-Benz has won over the international specialist jury at this year’s Minibus Euro Test in Madrid. On the basis of the new Sprinter generation, a vehicle has been created which not only offers an impressive amount of space and numerous technological highlights but which also demonstrates how modern public transport with minibuses works.
Triple victory for Mercedes-Benz and Setra at the international "busplaner" sustainability awards 2019.
Sustainability is an important topic for Mercedes‑Benz and Setra: The buses from both leading brands comply with the strictest emission standards and in practice their emissions are often considerably lower than the maximum permitted levels. Not only the environment and society profit from low and in turn resource-conserving fuel consumption, but also the bus companies themselves. The independent jury for the international "busplaner" sustainability award acknowledged these efforts: The Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro and Citaro hybrid as well as the Setra TopClass S 531 DT double-decker bus had all been entered into the competition. All three won in their respective category – three nominations for the buses led to three victories.
Mercedes-Benz eCitaro: City Bus of the Year 2019 in Spain.
The next big success for the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro: the new fully electric city bus has been crowned City Bus of the Year 2019 in Spain. The jury was made up of 46 experts from transport companies and associations, and the vote is run by the Editec publishing house.

Mercedes-Benz Citaro hybrid is “Bus of the Year 2019”.
Thanks to its economical and consistently practical drive concept the Citaro hybrid emerged a convincing winner in this year's Bus Euro test in Zagreb, sweeping aside competition from fully-electric rivals. In particular, the international jury of experts rated the vehicle ahead of the competition by some distance in the categories covering economy, innovation, quality and user-friendliness.
Mercedes‑Benz Tourismo – top-selling touring coach wins International Bus & Coach Competition (IBC) 2018.
Stuttgart / Munich - Europe's No. 1 high-deck touring coach is also the No. 1 in this year's IBC test, the International Bus & Coach Competition. Unveiled last year, the all-new Mercedes-Benz Tourismo won the renowned comparative test with a clear lead, scoring against famous competitors on the key criteria.
Sustainability pays off: Mercedes‑Benz Citaro Ü hybrid wins Sustainable Bus Award 2019.
Significantly lower fuel consumption with manageable additional costs – the Mercedes‑Benz Citaro hybrid is the hybrid bus that pays off. It was this feature that also impressed a jury of respected specialist publications from seven European countries, which awarded the Citaro Ü hybrid the Sustainable Bus Award 2019 for rural-service buses at the IAA International Commercial Vehicle Show. A host of criteria extending far beyond the topic of the environment played a role in making the selection: safety, comfort, noise emissions, recyclability of components and the general approach of the bus manufacturer to environmental friendliness all added up to a true sustainability prize.

Five awards for Daimler Buses at "Busworld" in Kortrijk, BE.
Stuttgart / Kortrijk. At the international trade fair "Busworld" in Kortrijk, Belgium (20 - 25 October 2017) Daimler Buses has been honoured with five awards. The expert jury of the Busworld Awards, the former European Coach & Bus Week (ECW), considered the two Tourismo M and Citaro hybrid buses by Mercedes-Benz for two awards.
Frost & Sullivan Award 2016. Award for Daimler Buses Latin America.
Stuttgart / São Paulo: 17 May 2016. Daimler Buses has won the Frost & Sullivan "2016 Latin American Bus and Coach Chassis Price/Performance Value Leadership" award. The award, which is one of the most prestigious in the bus and coach industry worldwide, was presented on 12 May 2016 in the Brazilian megacity of São Paulo. Ricardo José Da Silva, Head of Daimler Buses Latin America, received the award at the prize-giving ceremony from David Frigstad, Chairman of Frost & Sullivan.

The Citaro wins the IBC Award. International Bus & Coach Competition Award 2014.
"Whoever comes out top in this test really has deserved the sought-after IBC Trophy," explains Lutz Gerritzen, Editor-in-Chief of the industry publication "Bus-Fahrt" at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014. This year it was the Mercedes-Benz Citaro on the winner's podium, after seeing off four other competitors to win the trophy. It came top in the hardest comparative test of the year for buses. The completely redeveloped low-floor bus from the market leader was equal to the industry's demanding expectations – it scored a total of 85 percent out of the points available. Driven in a way to get the best out of its performance potential, it nevertheless finished with the best fuel consumption figures. It sets new benchmarks in the segment with exemplary active and passive safety. Passengers enjoy a high degree of ride comfort in a decidedly attractive interior; and the work of the driver and on-board staff is made much easier thanks to excellent ergonomics. Should the Citaro need to go into the workshop, its manufacturer will help with outstanding all-round service.

Stuttgart / Hanover, 25. September 2014. The Mercedes-Benz Citaro Euro VI received the "Green Bus Award 2014" at the IAA – the world's leading exhibition for commercial vehicles. The prize has been awarded annually since 2011 to a touring coach and an urban bus in alternating years by the specialist publications "Omnibusrevue" and "Busfahrer". This year the trophy has been awarded for the third time in four years to a vehicle from Stuttgart-based Daimler AG.

Stuttgart, 06 June 2014. Every year, the ETM publishing house with its specialist trade journals "Fernfahrer", "lastauto omnibus" and "trans aktuell" asks readers for their opinion on the best commercial vehicles and brands. This year over 7000 participants took part in the election.

The readers again voted Mercedes-Benz Citaro the best urban bus. With more than 36 000 units produced in 15 years, the Citaro is the most successful urban bus ever built. Deliveries of the Euro VI-compliant Citaro started as far back as May of last year and by the end of 2013 there will be more than 900 of these most environmentally friendly urban buses on the road. Despite the complex Euro VI technology it also has become more efficient.

Its innovations have helped it to knock the technical pioneers of a new era out of the running: In this year's battle for the title "Bus of the Year" the new Citaro with its Euro VI engine convinced the jury of international experts on many counts of its merits over the competition, which had nearly all gone for hybrid technology.

In the category "Urban Regular-Service Buses" the Mercedes-Benz Citaro climbs the winner's podium. With more than 35,000 units sold in 14 years of production, the Citaro is the most successful urban bus ever built. In early May it was the first Euro VI urban bus in Europe to roll off the assembly lines. The early introduction of Euro VI gives transit authorities the opportunity to quickly propagate environmental protection widely with economically affordable investments.

In the early hours of 24 March 2012 the international Spotlight advertising festival ended with an unforgettable party night. Germany's most popular festival for advertising spots celebrated the distinctive 15th edition in the largest cinema in Baden-Württemberg, the CinemaxX Mannheim. Thanks to a total of ten screens it was the perfect location to look back on the development of creative videos in the past 15 years with a significantly expanded supporting program befitting the anniversary.
The Mercedes-Benz Travego Edition 1 is Spanish "Coach of the Year 2012".
The Mercedes-Benz Travego Edition 1 is the Spanish "Coach of the Year 2012". Alberto Fermoso, sales manager of Mercedes-Benz Buses Spain, received the award from the hands of Rafael Barbadillo, president of the Spanish passenger transport association Asintra, in Madrid.

The new Citaro. Grand Award 2011.
The new Mercedes-Benz Citaro received the Grand Award for regular-service buses at Busworld in Kortrijk, Belgium. The jury of experts from European Coach Bus Week acknowledged the design achievement, the interior with new driver cockpit and above all the new safety features after a week of testing.

Even today the Citaro understands how to represent modernity and innovation. Its recipe for success is simple: meet the customer's needs. The second Citaro generation followed the first at the end of 2005/2006. Among its star qualities which won customers over from the get-go were its new axle construction and a completely reworked "face". From then until now the Citaro has maintained the kick of its development engine. And the customers are not the only ones who recognise its appeal. Journalists, independent trade experts and drivers in particular appreciate its features. That's why it won the reader's prize of publisher ETM's "Commercial Vehicle of the Year" 10 times, for example. The readers of "Busfahrer" magazine voted it the "Best Bus of 2009", Dekra awarded it an environmental prize, the environmental office of the German state of Baden-Württemberg gave it the F-Cell Award and an international jury selected it as the "Bus of the Year 2007".
The Travego. Coach of the Year 2010.
The European bus and coach jury at this year's international bus and coach fair, "Busworld Kortrijk", voted the Mercedes-Benz Travego – since early 2009 in its third generation – "Coach of the Year 2010″. On 15 October 2009 Stuart Jones, president of the Coach of the Year jury, presented the trophy to Michael Göpfarth, manager of the Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach unit of EvoBus GmbH.
Daimler receives "F-Cell Award" for user-friendly fuel cell technology.
Stuttgart, 30 September 2009. Daimler has received the "F-Cell Award" for innovative implementation of fuel-cell technology in the Mercedes-Benz Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid urban bus. Two Daimler AG staff members accepted the award on behalf of Daimler last Monday during the F-Cell Conference in Stuttgart. "We are delighted to receive this award. As the world's largest bus and coach manufacturer, we once again demonstrate our creativeness, making a great leap forward on the road to emission-free driving", said Hartmut Schick, Head of Daimler Buses. "The distinction confirms our position as technology leader, in the field of alternative drive technologies, too."
The Citaro in the Guinness Book of World Records. The largest ambulance in the world goes to Dubai.
Its capacity to transport 123 people and its overall length of 20.03 metres have secured the largest ambulance in the world – a large-capacity emergency ambulance based on the Mercedes-Benz Citaro articulated bus – a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
Readers' poll for "Best Commercial Vehicles 2009" – Mercedes-Benz Tourino on the winner's podium.
This year's winner in the "midibuses" category was once again the Mercedes-Benz Tourino. The two-door, two-axle Tourino midi touring coach offers seating for 38 passengers and meets the increasing demand for easily manoeuvrable touring coaches used to carry smaller travel groups. The readers' poll for "Best Commercial Vehicles 2009" was organised by the trade magazines "Fernfahrer", "lastauto omnibus" and "trans aktuell" (all distributed in Stuttgart) in cooperation with Dekra AG engineers.
Metrobus project in Istanbul receives award.
The Metrobus project of the Istanbul city council was recently honoured with a prize at the Sustainable Transport Awards in Washington D.C. This prize is awarded to projects which reduce greenhouse gases and improve the quality of life in the city centres of large metropolises worldwide.
Citaro G BlueTec® hybrid. DEKRA 2008 environmental award.
At the World Mobility Forum the Mercedes-Benz Citaro G BlueTec® Hybrid urban bus received the 2008 DEKRA environmental award. Clemens Klinke, Chairman of the Board of Management of DEKRA Automobil GmbH, presented the award to Andreas Renschler, member of the Daimler AG Board of Management with responsibility for Daimler Trucks & Daimler Buses, commenting that: "We have given the 2008 DEKRA environmental award to this bus drive technology because it provides an innovative and lasting contribution to the quality of life of our urban population." The DEKRA environmental award is oriented towards the principle of sustainability, and is awarded to projects, measures or initiatives which make a far-reaching and innovative contribution to environmental protection.

Launched at the beginning of 2006, the Mercedes-Benz Citaro LE Ü low-entry rural service bus can proudly claim to be "2007 Bus of the Year". The international jury, comprising the editorial teams of bus magazines from 15 European countries, has awarded the Citaro LE Ü the highest accolade for buses in Europe after extensive testing and trial drives.
