eCitaro with solid state batteries: pioneering achievement in automotive development.
"We are very pleased that our efforts for the accelerated transition to electric mobility have been rewarded by the readers," said Rüdiger Kappel, Head of Fleet Sales Germany at Daimler Buses, and also emphasized: "With the eCitaro, cities and conurbations become more liveable. He accepted the award during the MOBILITY Awards Ceremony at the IAA in Munich.
With its modular system for battery and charging technology and both solo and articulated variants with two or three driven axles, the all-electric Mercedes-Benz eCitaro is a milestone on the way to environmentally friendly bus transport in cities. A real pioneering achievement is its optionally available solid-state batteries with particularly high energy density and service life. Generally only expected in automotive engineering in a few years' time, the eCitaro already drives quietly and locally emission-free through the streets of European cities.
