The new Mercedes-Benz Citaro received the Grand Award for regular-service buses at Busworld in Kortrijk, Belgium. The jury of experts from European Coach Bus Week acknowledged the design achievement, the interior with new driver cockpit and above all the new safety features after a week of testing. "The new Mercedes-Benz Citaro is the first regular-service bus that can be delivered with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP®).
We are pleased that our team has once again been able to play a pioneering role in the field of public transport safety," said Angela Titzrath-Grimm, Head of Marketing, Sales and Aftersales at Daimler Buses.
The new Citaro was first presented to the public mid-2011, and will gradually replace the most successful urban bus in the world. The first of the new Citaro vehicles are currently on their way to customers.
