The new Mercedes-Benz Buses Sales Model was introduced in 2021 to bring our bus sales closer to customers. With sales taking place across four strategically located dealerships in the country: Sandown Commercial Vehicles, Orbit Commercial Vehicles Cape Town, Ronnies Motors and Stucky Motors. Today, we checked-in with Frank Cairns, Sales Executive for Mercedes-Benz Buses, at Orbit Commercial Vehicles Cape Town as he dives into the bus market in general and the impact of the new sales model on their dealership sales activities since its implementation. He also elaborates on what customers can expect from their dealership.
One-on-One with Frank Cairns, Orbit Commercial Vehicles Cape Town.
How is the bus market doing?
The bus market was quite tough in the last couple of years, but we are seeing a recovery of the industry especially as tourism and travel is back to normal.
What are some of the positive impacts on the customer experience with the new sales model for Mercedes-Benz Buses?
This was a great move for our dealership and since the rollout, we have been receiving additional inquiries from operations looking for buses and pricing. Today, I am reaping the benefits of that with the deals we are concluding on, especially, the 1730 MT and 1730 AT.
How do you see your dealership evolving to accommodate the ever-changing needs of customers and how has this model benefited your customers?
Relationships are extremely important in the bus business and being accessible to the customers in our region has been a priority, which the new sales model helped us achieve. Mercedes-Benz buses offer reliable products that customers can trust, which is very important when it comes to the transportation of people. In addition, our products are constantly enhanced to meet customer’s need in terms of safety, comfort and efficiency.
