Stuttgart/Hanover. Launched at the beginning of 2006, the Mercedes-Benz Citaro LE Ü low-entry rural service bus can proudly claim to be "2007 Bus of the Year". The international jury, comprising the editorial teams of bus magazines from 15 European countries, has awarded the Citaro LE Ü the highest accolade for buses in Europe after extensive testing and trial drives. The Citaro and two other buses from ranges of other key European manufacturers underwent an exacting programme of nearly week-long testing by the jury in May this year in Vienna and were tested in real-life use on regular city lines and rural service lines in Vienna.

The award was presented at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2006 on 19 September 2006 during the VDA evening of the commercial vehicle press in the convention centre of the IAA expo grounds in Hanover.
